The first semi-final for Eurovision 2019 had an abrupt ending for viewers in the UK after a technical fault took the show off air.
The BBC issued a statement after the show, which is being staged at Tel Aviv in Israel, was cut off suddenly as the celebrations were being broadcast.
The BBC quickly displayed a message on screen, which read: "We are sorry for the break in this programme and are trying to correct the fault.”
The broadcast quickly returned but the joy was short-lived as there were only the final credits left to watch on BBC4.

The technical fault arose at the exact time the show was scheduled to end according to TV programme listings.
Viewers had just heard which 10 countries made it through to the final on Saturday, before the screen went blank.

This meant that performers from Greece, Belarus, Serbia, Cyprus, Estonia, Czech Republic, Australia, Iceland, San Marino and Slovenia will join the fun at the competition for real at the weekend.
Another 10 countries can seal their place in the final when the second semi-final is broadcast live on Thursday.
