European Super League protest message projected outside Anfield after Liverpool decision

The fallout from Liverpool agreeing to take part in the proposed Super League is showing no signs of slowing down.

The Reds have agreed to become one of 12 founding members, which has been met with widespread criticism.

Liverpool are one of six Premier League clubs to agree to the plans, along with Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea, Man City and Tottenham.

There are also three clubs from Spain - Barcelona, Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid - and three from Italy - AC Milan, Inter Milan and Juventus - who have also agreed to take part.

Jurgen Klopp has stated that he does not agree with the idea of the Super League, and that was echoed by the club’s vice-captain James Milner after the draw with Leeds United on Monday night.

Popular football betting side Footy Accumulators have run a poll asking fans what they think about the idea of a Super League, and their response was close to unanimous.

According to their poll, 92 per cent of fans are against the concept altogether, while only the remaining eight per cent are in favour.

They didn’t stop there, with Footy Accumulators also projecting the results outside Anfield, as well as Old Trafford and the Etihad Stadium.

The projection outside Anfield displayed the message: “92% of football fans say NO to the European Super League.”

While at Old Trafford it simply had the hashtag: “#SayNoToTheSuperLeague.”
