The Football Association has said “nothing is off the table” as they look to address the fallout from the failed European Super League launch.
The Premier League’s ‘Big Six’ - Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham - all signed up to the breakaway Super League competition last Sunday.
It ended up collapsing just two days later as a huge fan backlash and Government intervention stopped the Super League in its tracks.
The fallout from it, however, is now rumbling on and the FA is looking into the matter - warning they are considering serious changes.
“Our primary focus now is working to ensure that this can never happen again,” said FA CEO Mark Bullingham.
“We are exploring all options to prevent that, including legislation and changes to our rulebook.
“Nothing is off the table.”
The ‘Big Six’ themselves are still dealing with the fallout from the failed Super League, with fans protesting against their clubs’ owners.
