European Masters snooker: Mark Allen adds name to history books with century breaks

Mark Allen added his name to the history books at the European Masters on Thursday.

The Antrim man claimed a resounding 5-0 win over Ken Doherty in the second round of the tournament in Milton Keynes.

Allen also equalled the record for the number of centuries in consecutive frames in his emphatic victory.

He recorded breaks of 134, 101, 141 and 145 to surge into a commanding 4-0 lead.

A further 100-plus break in the fifth frame would have seen Allen break the record outright, but it wasn't to be.

Allen does become only the sixth player to record four tons in a row, and will now meet either Ashley Carty or Simon Lichtenberg in the third round.
