With Harry Kane being linked with a Spurs departure, the North London club could potentially cash in on another key player in the form of Ben Davies.
According to reports in Italy, specifically RAI journalist Ciro Venerato, the Serie A outfit are interested in the former Swansea left-back and see him as a viable alternative should they fail in their pursuit of Chelsea defender Emerson Palmieri.
It is also claimed that the Azzurri are aiming to use Fabio Paratici in their bid to bring the Welshman to the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium.
Napoli reportedly have a positive relationship with the Italian, who is set to become Spurs’ Managing Director of Football from early July.
He previously served for 11 years with Napoli’s Serie A rivals, with the most high-profile deal between the two clubs occurring during Paratici’s tenure - the big-money arrival of Gonzalo Higuain in Turin back in 2016.
It is reported that the Naples outfit want to utilise that relationship once more in their search for a left-sided defender.
Despite that, it still remains to be seen whether that would be enough to tempt Spurs into selling.
Davies was a key man for the north Londoners last season, playing 35 games in all competitions, whilst he has represented Spurs a total of 228 times.
The former Swansea City man still has three years remaining on his contract at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
He is currently in action for Wales at Euro 2020 and will hope to contribute once again as his nation do battle with Denmark in Amsterdam on Saturday as they attempt to reach the quarter-finals of the competition.
