European elections: Why Ukip's Richard Elvin wants your vote

We've invited all seven parties standing in the EU election in the North East to set out their pitch to voters

This is what Richard Elvin wrote :

“Why should I Vote UKIP?” is the one question we are asked time and time again as we have been going around the region talking to people in the street.

Well, the simple answer we give is quite straight forward. UKIP is the only properly constituted party, with policies, a comprehensive manifesto and a network of branches and members, that has fought for nearly three decades to leave the European Union.

UKIP is not like the “Johnny come lately” collection of parties from both sides of the argument, seeking to take an opportunistic advantage of the huge anger present in the electorate.

An anger rightly felt by a vast majority on all sides, who believe we should have left the EU a long time ago and propelled this country forward.

This anger is particularly strong in the North East where we have seen the supply chain to Nissan move from being over 90% locally sourced to less than 10%, consistent with the EU plan of locating manufacturing in Central Europe.

Another reason why people from this region should vote UKIP is that all its candidates are local men, who have lived and worked in the region.

They are not drawn from the career political pool of hangers on or previous MEPs, or ex Tory Scottish Parliamentarians but are real people working for their communities, people who seek to empower the region and its businesses in order to develop employment opportunities the region once had: Employment opportunities that are not subject to EU regulations on tendering, making us free to put the UK first in national projects ensuring that key industries vital to the nation, like steelmaking, are not starved of work.

How do European elections work?

UKIP has noticed, whilst out talking to people in the region, other parties are conspicuous by their absence because the political elite in Westminster know they have failed the people and are too embarrassed and afraid to show their faces and choose instead to engage remotely via the media,  whilst at the time the main stream media tries to ignore what UKIP says in an attempt to silence the concerns of the electorate.

UKIP will not be cowed or silenced and will continue to speak for you, the man in the street, because UKIP is the man in the street and for too long we have been ignored.

UKIP is out on the ground every day in all areas of this region listening, talking and engaging and will continue to do so long after these elections are over.

The people of the North East were misled in the 2017 General Election. Don’t be fooled again. Vote for the party deserving of your trust which proves itself with your support on local councils.

Vote UKIP now and in the future. Let’s make the North East and Britain Great again.

That is why you should vote UKIP. Richard Elvin, Chris Gallagher and Alan Breeze.
