Mermaids support gender variant children and teenagers as well as their families, providing a network of information, support and friendship for people who are in a similar situation and feel the same way. It also works to raise awareness about gender issues amongst professionals and the general public.
Living Options Devon
Living Options Devon is a user-led organisation championing the needs and rights of disabled and deaf people. They provide vital support so that disabled and deaf people can live the life they choose. Based in Exeter and Barnstaple, it is well-respected and its involvement in UK pilot projects, and its regional and national work means people outside Devon also benefit.

Wettin eV is a media channel in Germany. They worked with Protestant City Mission Hall Association and Dubbed TV to create a film highlighting disability and to give those living with disabilities a voice.
The Fawcett Society
Since 1866, Fawcett has spearheaded the UK gender equality movement. They've remained focused on making women's rights a real issue, while adapting their tactics in response to an ever-changing political environment. Today, they are renowned for their policy expertise, high quality research and for prioritising structural change over short-term fixes.
Diversity Role Models
Diversity Role Models is a new charity, formed in 2011, carrying out pioneering work, delivering workshops into primary and secondary schools. These workshops challenge homophobic prejudice in a unique way by taking adult role models into schools. The approach fills a gap and is resulting in an amazing transformation of attitudes.
Ben Cohen StandUp Foundation
The Ben Cohen StandUp Foundation has brought the issue of bullying and its long-term negative effects slap-bang in the middle of private and public debate through employing the global influence of international rugby star and foundation chairman, Ben Cohen MBE.
Eaves
Eaves provides support, advocacy and accommodation to almost 3,000 vulnerable women per year who have experienced, or who are at risk of, violence. Their aim is to give women their lives back; to make them independent, and give them the skills they need to take their rightful places in society, contribute to the economy and the communities around them, and live happy, fulfilled lives.
Generating Genius
Dr Tony Sewell founded Generating Genius in 2005. His vision was to work with high-achieving students from disadvantaged communities throughout their secondary school careers to help them acquire the skills they need to win places at top universities. Generating Genius alumni, now undergraduates, in turn become mentors to course participants, feeding their experience back into the programmes.
