Following on from the successful launch of the European Diversity Awards 2012, in Brussels in April, it is with great pride we can today announce the shortlisted entries for each category. The awards, which counts Google and RBS as their headline sponsors, received just under 500 entries from almost every country in Europe, a massive increase on entries from last year.
The judges have whittled down the hopefuls to a shortlist of between six and eight for each category, reflecting only the best entries. They will spend the next six weeks going through each entry with a fine-tooth comb to come up with this years winners.

The awards will be presented at a star-studded ceremony at the prestigious Savoy in London on 20 September 2012, presented by BBC newsreader Jane Hill. Jane was propelled into the LGBT spotlight when an off-the-cuff comment in an internal BBC publication about her girlfriend became national news. Jane was named the 18th most influential LGBT personality in the world in the recent World Pride Power List, cementing her place as a positive role model for all young women.
The statistics:
Race 22%
Disability 19%
LBGT 26%
Religion 8%
Gender 25%
