European Cup wins to Psycho's No.3 - The five most expensive Nottingham Forest shirts

As well as fans getting their hands on the newest Nottingham Forest shirts, some are keen to grab a slightly more unique piece of the club's history.

Rare vintage kits are big business nowadays, with some limited edition strips changing hands for four figure fees.

With Forest’s rich history in the Garibaldi, there are a number of famous shirts that fans are willing to part with big money to own.

Regular fans are selling some of their old strips on eBay and through specialist shops like Manchester’s Classic Football Shirts.

We’ve had a look on both sites to find out the most expensive pieces of Forest memorabilia that fans can get, if they are willing to stump up the cash.

Forest 1959 FA Cup final tracksuit jacket - £1,350

The most expensive item on eBay is not actually a jersey, but the jacket that Jack Burkitt and his Forest teammates wore at Wembley just over 60 years ago.

The Reds beat Luton Town 2-1 at the old Wembley to win the club’s first FA Cup in the 20 century.

Thirteen people are currently watching the jacket, although no one has yet matched the reserve.

Forest 1985 No.3 Adidas shirt - £650

58 people are currently watching this one, although the hefty reserve hasn’t been met yet. The shirt was worn for two years between 1984 and 1986, two relatively underwhelming seasons that saw Forest register a pair of mid-table finishes.

Of course, this was the first Forest shirt that Stuart Pearce donned after Brian Clough signed him from Coventry in 1985.

Forest away shirt 1981-84 - £275

The first on the list from Classc Football Shirts, they value this at £274.99.

Described as ‘extremely rare’ it was the shirt worn when Forest were knocked out of the UEFA Cup in 1984, when a goal was controversially disallowed.

1992/93 Umbro third shirt - £250

Another one on eBay, with 12 people watching.

Rare third kits are big business and this one fits the bill. It was the change kit in the season that saw Forest relegated from the Premier League back to Division 1. There is another version of the same shirt on sale for £225, although neither have had any bids.

Home shirt 1979-81 - £175 - £250

One that would always make the list, the shirt that saw Brian Clough’s side conquer Europe and win back-to-back European Cups.

eBay has one listed at around £250, with Classic Football Shirts having their own version for sale at around £175.

A shirt that every Forest fan is willing to part with cash to own.
