European clubs 'join the race' for Nottingham Forest striker Karim Ansarifard

Two more clubs have reportedly taken an interest in Nottingham Forest striker Karim Ansarifard.

The Iranian was last week linked with a move to Scottish giants Rangers, and he is now said to have admirers in Europe.

German side Hamburg and Turkish team Besiktas “have joined the race” to sign Ansarifard, according to Football Insider.

They report Rangers are facing competition to secure the front man’s signature as boss Steven Gerrard looks to reshape his attacking options at Ibrox for next season.

Ansarifard made the switch to the City Ground as a free agent in November, having had to wait for work permit approval following the cancellation of his Olympiacos contract in August.

He made 12 appearances for the Reds in the campaign just gone, though only three of those came as part of the starting XI.

He found the back of the net twice in the Garibaldi, in the 3-0 victory over Hull City and in what proved to be his final outing of the term, scoring the winner at QPR.

The 29-year-old missed part of the season as he was called up by his country for the AFC Asian Cup in January.

And he found it difficult to hold down a regular place in the team, facing competition from Lewis Grabban and Daryl Murphy.
