Europe Today: US ambassador to the EU explains President Trump’s new security strategy

In response, the European Council president António Costa called on the US President to "show respect". To break down this story, we are joined in our studio by Euronews EU editor Maria Tadeo.

Our guest today on Europe Today is US ambassador to the EU Andrew Puzder, a former business executive who was appointed ambassador in 2025, making him the eyes and ears of US President Donald Trump in Brussels.

We also touch on Elon Musk's frustration with the EU fine of €120 million for failing to meet transparency rules. Musk has said he could refuse to pay, though the EU Commission has said it will make sure it gets the money.

Finally on Europe Today, we travel to Finland to speak to ur correspondent Shona Murray who is in Riihimäki where NATO has been working with private technology companies to manufacture drones.
