Europe's largest lantern and light festival is being launched at Heaton Park - just under an hour's drive from Liverpool.
Opening in November, Lightopia will feature interactive and immersive lights, lanterns, installations and incredible lasers with water-screen multimedia shows.
Six large-scale, interactive installations will invite visitors of all ages to become part of the trail, as they are led on a journey of discovery through the park.
Ian Xiang, Lightopia's founder and creative director of Lightopia, said: "The festival aims to revive and reinterpret the senses, carrying the audience into a different world of expression and emotion through beautiful light designs and interactive installations.
"It is a world built upon captivating experiences, there is no ordinary at Lightopia."
The six installations have been designed by critically acclaimed artist Ava Moradi, who has created art and installations involving light and design internationally for more than 10 years.
They include The Love Gate, Tree of Life, Elysian Field, S-Harmony, The Flower Road, Happy Valley, Two Moons Eagle and a Manchester Light Bees installation symbolising community, brightness and personal power.
Guests can follow the bee to discover further destinations.
The ticketed event will also include live entertainment, such as acrobatic performances, local musicians and family rides.
Lightopia will open to the public from November 21 to December 31, 2019, at Heaton Park, Manchester - with the event closed on Mondays
and Tuesdays, except during school holidays, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
Adult tickets cost £18 advance, £20 advance. Child tickets (aged 3-16) cost £11 advance, £13 on the day. Advance family tickets (2 adults and 2
children) cost £54 advance, £62 on the day. Children under 3 go free.
