Europa League: Kilmarnock face Connah's Quay Nomads in first qualifying round

Kilmarnock will face Connah’s Quay Nomads in the Europa League first qualifying round.

The draw took place this afternoon in Switzerland and Killie had their name pulled out beside the Welsh side.

They will play at away on July 11 and home on July 18.

Killie qualified for the competition thanks to a third-place finish in the Scottish Premiership.

They pipped Aberdeen to third on the final day of the season as they beat second-place Rangers at Rugby Park.

The match finished 2-1 as Chris Burke opened the scoring in the first-half, but Alfredo Morelos equalised.

Eamonn Brophy fired Killie ahead in the dying minutes with a last-gasp penalty after Stephen O’Donnell was fouled.

It’s Killie’s first time in the competition for 18 years, as they last played Viking Stavanger of Norway.
