Manchester City's manager Roberto Mancini had spoken highly of tonight's opponents so it will be interesting to see how his current charges get on against one of Europe's legendary teamsPhotograph: Robin Parker/EPAMancini was correct with his admiration as Juve start the brightest of the two teams and just 10 minutes in take the lead courtesy of a screamer from Vincenzo Iaquinta. He cuts in from the left and unleashes a rocket which flies towards the City goal and though it takes a nick off of Kolo Toure's head, Joe Hart should have done better Photograph: Michael Regan/Getty ImagesThe quality of his celebration matches that of his strikePhotograph: Robin Parker/EPA
It takes half an hour for City to wake up and put together a decent chance and just five minutes later they get the equaliser. Yaya Touré charges forward and then releases a slick pass through the middle of the Juve defence which Adam Johnson, who's darting in from the right, runs on to. His first touch takes out Manninger in the Juve goal which leaves him the easy task of slotting the ball into an empty net. A lucky escape for the home sidePhotograph: Jason Cairnduff/Action ImagesA relieved Mancini hugs his opposite number Luigi Del Neri after the whistle goes, both managers will probably be relatively happy with the result – especially Mancini as City weren't particularly incisive tonight and the result means they are still above Juve, in second place with four pointsPhotograph: Peter Byrne/PAThere are 23,662 fans in the Galgenwaard stadium in Utrecht for the visit of Liverpool who are playing their 300th European tie.
