Clement Turpin has been confirmed as the referee for the Europa League Final between Manchester United and Villarreal on May 26.

Turpin, 38, has officiated seven Champions League games this season along with the Europa League round-of-32 second-leg match between PSV and Olympiacos.

The Frenchman has been an international referee since 2010, and this will be the second major UEFA final he has been involved in after being named fourth official for the 2018 Champions League Final between Real Madrid and Liverpool.

Turpin oversaw one United game last season, officiating their 1-0 quarter-final win over Copenhagen on August 10, 2020, showing yellow cards to Harry Maguire and Eric Bailly.

Turpin will also be present at Euro 2020 as a match official.

As for Turpin's assistant, compatriots Nicolas Danos and Cyril Gringore will be on the sidelines with Slovenian official Slavko Vincic the fourth official.

In terms of VAR, Frenchman Francois Letexier is in charge with assistance from compatriots Jerome Brisard and Benjamin Pages, with Dutch official Paulus van Boekel also on call.
