Chelsea and Arsenal's upcoming Europa League Final will be shown for free on TV and online, BT have confirmed.
BT announced on Tuesday that the Europa League Final on May 29 - along with the June 1 Champions League Final between Tottenham and Liverpool - will be made free-to-air across BT Sport channels on TV and online.
The all-England, all-London Final - which pits Maurizio Sarri's Blues against Unai Emery's Gunners - will be available to watch for free via the BT Sport app, streamed online at BTSport.com and their YouTube account, and on Virgin TV.
The news will come as a welcome relief to thousands of Chelsea and Arsenal supporters who are struggling to find realistic travel arrangements to Baku,.
As recently as last week, Chelsea were still struggling to sell out their allocation of 5,801 tickets, with the vast majority of the club’s supporters not interested in going due to the difficulty and high cost of travelling to Azerbaijan.
Last week the Chelsea Supporters Trust and Arsenal Supporters Trust released a joint statement criticising Uefa's decision-making process.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan will also miss the Final after Arsenal failed to receive sufficient assurances from Uefa over his safety in Azerbaijan.
The Gunners confirmed on Tuesday morning they have made the decision the 30-year-old should not travel to Baku next week amid political tensions between Azerbaijan and Mkhitaryan’s birthplace, Armenia, over the disputed Nagorno-Karabakh region.
However, Uefa insisted that Mkhitaryan's decision to not travel was "personal", and claim that a comprehensive security plan" was in place for the playmaker.
