EuroMillions winner Jane Park suffers miscarriage weeks after announcing pregnancy

A woman who scooped £1million as a teenager on the EuroMillions has suffered a tragic miscarriage.

Winner Jane Park announced she was pregnant with her first baby last month and said she couldn't be happier.

But the 23-year-old announced the heartbreaking news on Thursday morning that she'd lost the baby.

She said: "It's 4am and I'm wide awake but emotionally exhaused. I never thought I'd have to say this, but this pregnancy just wasn't meant to be.

"I've never cried this hard in my life but with my mum by by side I know I'll get through this."

Jane's management confirmed that Jane's pregnancy did not make full term.

She revealed on October 26 she was expecting her first child and claimed that winning the £1million didn't come close to the elation she felt when she found out she was becoming a mum.

She said: “Seeing the positive-result pregnancy test was more exciting than seeing the winning numbers on my lottery ticket. It’s a crazy time but I’m so happy.

“People think winning the lottery is the best thing that can happen to you but this feeling is just magical in a completely different way.

"This is something that no amount of cash could buy."

“Seeing the positive pregnancy test was more exciting than seeing the winning numbers on my lottery ticket,” she said. “It’s a crazy time but I am so happy.

“Everybody thinks buying a flash car is exciting but in reality, for me, shopping for a pram is ten times more fulfilling.

“When you suddenly come into a lot of money you become isolated and desperate to build bonds and relationships.

“For the first time I feel like I will have someone new in my life who loves me for me and not because of my bank balance. And that is such a comforting thing.”

Jane, who lives with her mum in Edinburgh, says she is not in a relationship. Last November she even launched a website to offer a £60,000-a-year salary for Mr Right

She won big back in 2013 and said the windfall left her "feeling lost".

In 2017 Jane threatened to sue Euromillions for negligence, claiming her win ruined her life, before dropping the case.
