- In 2020, he won £1m in the lottery shortly after performing CPR on a police officer who had collapsed on a bus, an act that helped save the officer's life.
- An 18-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and other offences, and remains under investigation by Essex Police.
- Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with footage of a black Ford KA car in the area around the time of the incident to come forward.
