A lucky Cavan punter has struck gold after they landed over a quarter of a million euro in Tuesday's EuroMillions draw.
The player scooped an incredible €265,150 when they matched five numbers and one Lucky Star.
They came agonisingly close to winning the jaw-dropping €49,112,673 but missed out by just one number.
Lotto bosses tweeted: "Someone in Cavan has won €265,150 in tonight’s #EuroMillions draw after matching 5 + 1 lucky star!".
An announcement about where the winner bought their ticket is expected later today.
There was no winner of the monster jackpot.
The numbers drawn were 1, 2, 5, 15, 42 and Lucky Stars 5 and 8.
Meanwhile, there was no winner of the EuroMillions Plus top prize of €500,000.
The numbers drawn were: 8, 28, 29, 44 and 46.
Over 46,000 players in Ireland picked up prizes, including ten winners who scooped €5,000 each in the Ireland Only Raffle.
The winning Raffle IDs were I-JJP-21159, I-JKW-49068, I-JLD-49359, I-JLG-84052, I-JLN-29345, I-JLP-49839, I-JLQ-16116, I-JLQ-66014, I-JLQ-66084 and I-JLR-31716.
