EuroMillions results Ireland: Delight at family-run shop in Co Cavan which sold Plus winning ticket

Lotto bosses have unveiled the store in Co Cavan which sold a EuroMillions winning ticket worth €500,000.

Staff at the family-run service station have been celebrating on Wednesday after the shop sold its most valuable National Lottery ticket ever.

One punter in Ireland is half a million euro richer after buying their quick pick ticket at Barrack Street Service Station in Bailieboro.

The lucky player matched all five numbers in Tuesday night's secondary draw to claim the bumper prize.

Store manager Paula Roe said: “We’re absolutely thrilled with the win as it’s our first major National Lottery winner we’ve had since we started the business in 2008 – so we were long overdue one!

"It’s a great bit of news for the town too as so much of our business comes from Bailieborough locals so fingers crossed the winner is one of our regular customers.

"Things have been tough over the last few months with the lockdown which saw business slow but we are building back up now and this win is a nice boost for us. Best of luck to the winner!"

The Daybreak/Texaco garage has been run by the Roe family in the town since 2008.

Tuesday's winning EuroMillions Plus numbers were 03, 26, 32, 34 and 35.

The Lotto chiefs have now urged players in Co Cavan to check their tickets to see if they have won the €500,000 prize.

A spokesman said: “Well one week on from the massive €49.5 million EuroMillions jackpot being won in Ireland (by an online player from Dublin), we have yet another winner of the EuroMillions Plus top prize of €500,000.

"In fact this is the 18 such winner we’ve had so far in 2020. We are appealing to all our EuroMillions players in Cavan, specifically those who played in the Bailieboro area yesterday, to check their tickets carefully.

"If you have matched all five of the above numbers on the Plus draw, contact our prize claims team on 1800 666 222 or email  claims@lottery.ie  and we will make arrangements for you to collect your prize."
