EuroMillions punters urged to check tickets as Dublin player wins €500,000

Lotto chiefs are urging players in Dublin to check their tickets after someone won €500,000 in Tuesday's EuroMillions draw.

The lucky player bought their ticket at the Bookstation store in the Stillorgan Shopping Centre on Monday.

They scooped the huge sum after matching all five numbers in the Plus draw.

Bookstation manager Tom Nolan said: "Nothing gets the excitement going in-store like a lottery win, it’s absolutely fantastic.

"There’s a great buzz about the entire town today with news filtering out that somebody has woken up a half a million euro richer.

"The lottery terminal in our store has been busy checking tickets all morning as hopeful customers are checking to see if they have the lucky ticket.

"Whoever the winner is, we wish them all the best of luck and we hope that they enjoy their new found fortune."

It was the fifth straight EuroMillions draw an Irish player won the Plus jackpot.

The main jackpot was not won, meaning Friday's top prize will be an estimated €60million.
