EuroMillions player has just days left to claim major prize as deadline nears for collection

A EuroMillions player has just days left to claim a major prize - as Lotto bosses have warned the deadline for collection is later this week.

Any prize won in either the Lotto or EuroMillions can be collected from the day after the winning draw, as long as ticket holders make contact with the National Lottery.

But if prizes aren't claimed within 90 days of the draw date, then they will go towards promoting the National Lottery.

That, in turn, will increase the funds raised for "Good Causes", according to Lotto bosses.

And that could well be the case for one Dublin player of the EuroMillions, who has until Friday to claim a five-figure sum won in a draw from October.

The October 15 results saw an enormous €220 million jackpot won in France, but the Dublin ticket holder saw their numbers come up to scoop a tasty €33,392.

One problem: They still haven't claimed it.

The winning Quick Pick ticket was purchased on the day of the draw at Dunnes Stores in the Ilac Centre on Henry Street in Dublin 1.

It's been 87 days since that draw, so time is running out for the lucky punter to get in touch with the Lotto chiefs.

A National Lottery spokesperson said: We are eager to hear from the EuroMillions player who matched five numbers in the Friday 15th October draw as the player is yet to come forward to claim their €33,932 prize. The winning ticket was purchased on the day of the draw at Dunnes Stores in the Ilac Centre on Henry Street in Dublin 1.

"The winning ticket holder has until close of business on Thursday 13th January to claim their prize so we are encouraging all of our players to get checking those old tickets as one person could have a prize worth over €30,000 waiting for them. If you are the winner, sign the back of your ticket and immediately contact our prize claims team on 1800 666 222 or email claims@lottery.ie and arrangements will be made for you to claim your prize.”

Other prize winners yet to come forward include:

  • A Mayo player who won €22,872 on the October 27 Lotto draw
  • Players from Cork, Limerick and Wicklow who all hold tickets worth €23,367 from the October 30 Lotto draw.
  • A whopping €1,000,000 winning ticket belonging to a player in Dublin is still on the missing list from November 13's Lotto Plus One jackpot win

Meanwhile, Tuesday evening's EuroMillions draw jackpot stands at €40,000,000.

There hasn't been a jackpot win in Ireland since 2020.

It's a similar situation with Wednesday's Lotto top prize, which remains at €19.06 million for the 60th draw in a row.

The controversy has seen calls for a reform of the Lotto from both members of the public and TD's.
