EuroMillions: One UK ticket holder scoops the entire £40million jackpot

An extremely lucky UK National Lottery winner has scooped the £40million jackpot tonight.

They won the EuroMillions game after the draw this evening.

The winning main EuroMillions numbers are: 18, 31, 32, 38, 48.

The winning EuroMillions Lucky Star numbers are: 04, 12.

Andy Carter, Senior Winners’ Advisor at The National Lottery, said, "One very lucky UK ticket-holder has scooped tonight’s entire £40M EuroMillions jackpot. This massive win follows hot on the heels of Steve and Lenka Thomson, who won an incredible £105M last month.

“Tonight’s big winner has scooped the seventh EuroMillions jackpot banked in the UK this year. As The National Lottery celebrates its 25 birthday, players continue to win big, adding to the 5,500 millionaires created since launch.

"By buying a ticket for EuroMillions or any other National Lottery game, every player is helping to raise, on average, around £30M every week for projects across the UK, including funding everything from local community projects to supporting the nation’s athletes.”

Friday's EuroMillions jackpot will be £14million.

Steve and Lenka Thomson, who won big last month, said they'll use the riches to move out of their 'shoebox three-terraced house' so their three children can each have a room of their own while also vowing to 'do a lot of good' with the eye-watering sum they've described as 'too much for us'.

Builder Steve was back painting a ceiling hours after finding out about the life-changing win and has pledged to complete the work he's started over fears of letting customers down in the run-up to Christmas.

The modest couple, from from Selsey, West Sussex, met while working at a local leisure complex.

"I knew it was a really big win but didn’t know what to do.  I went out to my van, walked back in, thought about knocking on a neighbour’s door, went back to the van – I think I was on the verge of having a heart attack," father-of-three Steve said.
