EuroMillions: £167 million up for grabs as jackpot rolls over for a 19th time

One lucky lottery player could be £167 million better off on Friday as the EuroMillions jackpot rolls over for a 19th time.

It is the longest rollover streak in the competition's history, to the extent that the jackpot has now been capped.

If someone from the UK was to get all the numbers, they would become the biggest lottery winner the country has ever seen.

The UK's current record holders are Colin and Chris Weir, who won £161 million in 2011.

No one person bagged the whole sum on Tuesday, although someone in the UK did win £3.6 million for matching most of the numbers.

The numbers were 2, 33, 42, 47 and 48, with "lucky star" numbers of 1 and 2.

Andy Carter, senior winners' advisor at The National Lottery, said: "As the jackpot is now capped, Tuesday's draw has seen three players bank bigger prizes for matching five numbers and just one lucky star."
