Commuters are facing delays this morning due to the closure of a bridge over the M8 motorway as a result of an ongoing police incident.
Traffic Scotland alerted drivers around 8am this morning to slow traffic eastbound on the A8 at Chapelhall following the closure at the Eurocentral Junction, and advised them to expect delays as a result.
Traffic exiting eastbound is being forced towards Coatbridge.
Photos from the scene show police vehicles at either end of the bridge next to the industrial estate, which is situated around 12 miles east of Glasgow along the M8.

Citylink first reported news of the police incident at 5:45pm last night in a tweet, noting that their 900 and AIR services were unable to serve the stop at Maxim Park/Eurocentral in both directions, until further notice.
UPDATE - The A8 is now running well eastbound at Chapelhall.
