Euro Garages buys four Merseyside sites as service station firm expands North West presence

Four "Merseyside gateway" sites set to become service stations have been acquired by Euro Garages UK.

The sites situated in Aintree, Maghull, Huyton and Knowsley on the East Lancs Road are at various stages of development, and were all purchased for undisclosed sums.

Aherne Property Consultants acted on behalf of Euro Garages, which will now expand its 'mini service station' offer providing petrol filling stations, convenience retail, hot food and drinks.

David Myers, property director at Euro Garages, said: “These sites are situated on all the main arteries serving the Liverpool conurbation and complement our existing operations on Merseyside.

"We will push ahead with the delivery of these service stations as soon as possible as we see these offering an important amenity to the locations each serves whether for passing traffic, local businesses or residents.”

Full details on the sites:

Aintree

Euro Garages has acquired two acres at Mersey Reach on Dunningsbridge Road in Aintree, the main approach to Liverpool Docks.

Construction is due to commence on site later this year for a PFS convenience retail and drive-thru Starbucks.

Maghull

A five acre site was purchased at Maghull on junction one of M58 where new slip roads providing East-West access to the Motorway are nearing completion.

The firm has been granted planning permission for a petrol station and three drive-thru restaurants.

The scheme will comprise a 5,100 sq ft petrol station, two drive-thrus of 2,500 sq ft each and a drive-thru coffee shop at 2,204 sq ft.

Huyton

At Beacon 62 in Huyton, close to junction seven of the M62, Euro Garages has been granted planning for a new mini service on a 2.5 acre site, adjacent to the proposed new Aldi store.

Knowsley

The final site is at Titan fronting the A580 East Lancs Road at the entrance to in Knowsley Industrial Estate and totals 2.5 acres. Planning has been granted for a scheme similar to Maghull.

Andrew Aherne of Aherne Property Consultants, added: “I have worked with Euro Garages for a long time now as it has continued to grow its portfolio over the years.

"Owing to our successful working relationship, together with my knowledge of the North West market, I was able to identify and acquire these sites off market knowing that they would be perfectly suited to my client’s unique requirements.”
