Euro 2020: Scotland fans react after nightmare defeat against Czech Republic at Hampden

Scotland fans have been left gutted after the beginning of national team's Euros campaign got off to the worst possible start.

Facing the Czech Republic for its first match of Euro 2020, Scotland suffered a 2-0 defeat in Hampden this afternoon in their first international tournament appearance in 23 years.

In front of 9,847 fans, both sides had chances in their opening Euro 2020 fixture - with Andy Robertson putting in a particularly impressive effort. But it was striker Patrik Schick who drew first blood three minutes before the interval.

In the 52nd minute Schick struck again with a jaw-dropping goal from near the halfway line. The Scotland side was never able to recover.

And it's safe to say there won't be much boogying around the country tonight, with spirits dampened by the result.

Fans took to social media to vent their frustration with the side, sometimes with disappointment, sometimes with anger, and often with a healthy dose of Scottish humour.

Some worried this match would define the entirety of Scotland's Euros campaign and questioned the next time Scotland would get the opportunity to compete in an international tournament.

But although there's plenty of reasons to lick our wounds right now, it's never over till it's over. We go again.

Next stop: Wembley...
