Euro 2020 giveaway as Scotland legend Colin Hendry set to dish out lucky Irn-Bru pants ahead of England match

After a disappointing first time for many Scotland fans, Irn-Bru is teaming up with Scotland legend Colin Hendry in a bid to try and bring some luck to the team ahead of the big game against England.

Hoping to galvanise the nation to help them believe that together we can help the Scotland team make it second time lucky, former centre half Hendry will be giving out lucky Irn-Bru pants to the Tartan Army on Friday.

Hendry - who was on the squad when Scotland last beat England at Wembley – has channelled all of the experience and the luck of the ’99 squad to ‘bless’ hundreds of pairs.

First blessed on Scottish soil, the Ex-defender will be heading down to Wembley in time to dish out the lucky pants to Scottish fans heading to the game.

Having racked up over 50 appearances for Scotland, despite making his international debut at 27, Hendry was captain of the last Scotland’s Men’s Team to appear at a major tournament – and played a vital part in the nation’s 1-0 win at Wembley in 1999.

Colin Hendry stated that lots of us have pre-game rituals and for many, that means donning lucky underpants.

He said: "Hopefully we can channel some of the success my team enjoyed in 1999 with these lucky orange-and-blue pants for the Tartan Army at Wembley on Friday.

“I’ll be out in London pinging lucky undies to Scottish fans to chuck on under their kilts and bring in some luck for our boys.”

Adrian Troy, Marketing Director at AG Barr, said: “The Czech result wasn’t exactly how our Tournament Virgins would’ve planned their first time – but with these lucky pants, hopefully Friday can be their lucky night.

"Come on Scotland!”

In honour of Scotland’s summer of football, IRN-BRU has also launched a full range of new design cans available in supermarkets, featuring iconic phrases that Scots will be shouting from the rooftops like ‘YA DANCER’, ‘YES SIR’, ‘BOOGIE’, ‘GET IN’, ‘BELTER’ and more.
