Ally McCoist has gone viral with footie fans voicing their rage that was been overlooked for the BBC and ITV Euro 2020 official commentary on Sunday's final.
The commentary teams were confirmed for the Euro 2020 final, with Guy Mowbray and Jermaine Jenas on BBC, and Sam Matterface and Lee Dixon on ITV.
Fans were upset that Ally, who was hailed during the qualifiers and lead up matches to the big event, won't be commentating for ITV.
One personsaid: "Opting for Lee Dixon over Ally McCoist to commentate on the final is like having Come On Eileen up your sleeve when you're DJing at a wedding reception and choosing to play a medley of Mumford & Sons b-sides instead.
Another pleaded: "At least give us a red button option for @CliveTyldesley and Ally McCoist lads ffs @ITVSport."
Another suggested: "You have to wonder if there's some clauses in contracts that mean certain commentators were guaranteed certain matches.
"Honestly have never seen social media so unified in enjoying the combination of Clive Tyldesley and Ally McCoist. Yet ITV completely overlook them."
Someone else put it more crudely adding: "ITV have dropped a b*****k there. If they put Tyldsley & McCoist on there'd be nobody watching it on BBC One."
And others felt that viewing figures for ITVs coverage may go down as a result of the omission.
One said: "If @itvfootball got Tyldesely and McCoist on comms for the final they'd get 99% viewership - instead they'll now lose out to Jermaine Jenas."
"If they announced that Tyldesley and McCoist were on commentary it would put millions on their viewing figures."
Someone else suggested on Ally's own Instagram page: "Get the laxatives into Dixon and Matterface breakfasts. We’ll get you and Clive this final gig yet."
Ally has so far kept a dignified silence but he will of course be watching the big game and said: "If England do win it I’ll have a drink every day for two weeks."
