Euro 2020 draw details as Scotland certain to face England in potential group of death

There's still the matter of the play-offs to contend with but Scotland will learn today who we'll face in Euro 2020 if we do qualify.

Steve Clarke's side still have to beat Israel at Hampden and then win in either Norway or Serbia to make it to the tournament but the draw will be made this evening.

With Hampden hosting matches we'll be seeing some European Championship football either way - but it'd be nice to be involved for once.

Here's everything you need to know about today's draw.

When and where is the draw?

The draw will be made at 5pm today in the Romanian capital of Bucharest.

How will the draw work?

Teams that are hosting matches have already been assigned to their groups and are guaranteed at least two home matches.

The six group winners with the best qualification record have been placed into pot 1, followed by the group winners ranked 7–10 and group runners-up ranked 1–2 in pot 2.

The group runners-up ranked 3–8 are in pot 3 and those below that in pot 4.

Scotland will be in pot 4 if we qualify, as we'd have done so via the Nations League.

What group will Scotland be in if we qualify?

As a host country, Scotland will be in Group D with England if we make it past Israel and then Serbia or Norway.

Host cities have been "paired" to cut down on travel for fans and Hampden is paired with Wembley.

It's nice and simple for us but UEFA have had to introduce an either/or scenario since Romania and Hungary are both hosts and could meet in Path A of the Nations League play-offs.

Therefore if Path A is won by Bulgaria, Hungary or Iceland the winner of Path A will enter Group F, and the winner of Path D will enter Group C.

If Path A is won by Romania they will enter Group C, and the winner of Path D will enter Group F.

Where will Scotland be playing if we qualify?

England are a top seed so they'll get three games at Wembley.

That means if Scotland qualify we'll play two games at Hampden and one away to England.

How many games is Hampden hosting?

The national stadium will host three Group D games and a last 16 clash on June 30.

The group games will be June 15, 19 and 23.

Who could we potentially play?

Qualification would definitely mean playing England, but here are the other potential opponents.

Pot 1: England

Pot 2: France, Poland, Switzerland, Croatia

Pot 3: Portugal, Turkey, Sweden, Czech Republic, Austria
