Euro 2020 Betting Odds: England new tournament favourites after famous Germany win

ENGLAND are the new favourites to win Euro 2020. Maybe football really is coming home.

The Three Lions are 41/20 in Grosvenor Sport’s Euro 2020 betting list to end their 55-year wait for a major trophy after their famous last-16 victory over Germany at Wembley.

Gareth Southgate’s side now travel to Rome for a quarter-final clash with tournament outsiders Ukraine, who snatched a late victory over Sweden in extra time despite being down to ten men.

The winner of the Rome showdown will face either Czech Republic or Denmark in a Wembley semi-final.

At least one big name is guaranteed to be sent packing from the other side of the draw, where a depleted Belgium take on Italy while Spain, who are tournament second favourites, face a Switzerland side still on cloud nine after their remarkable victory over World Champions France.

Raheem Sterling is the big mover in Golden Boot betting lists after notching his third goal of the tournament against Germany. Sterling is now 5/1 third favourite behind Cristiano Ronaldo who leads the way with five goals, but the Portuguese star is there to be shot at given he’s now out of the tournament.

Harry Kane finally joined the goalscoring party by bagging the second against Germany but he faces an uphill battle if he is going to justify pre-tournament Golden Boot betting favouritism.

Jack Grealish didn’t even start England’s last-16 clash but still came up with two assists and the Aston Villa star is now 6/1 second favourite in tournament top assists betting. Grealish is two behind Switzerland’s Steven Zuber, who is clear at the top of the tournament assists table.
