Euphoria Star Hunter Schafer Arrested At Gaza Cease-Fire Protest

Hunter Schafer's Horror Film 'Cuckoo' Set To Premiere At Berlin Film Festival

Hunter Schafer, known for her role in Euphoria, was among the 50 individuals arrested at a demonstration urging a cease-fire in Gaza. The protest took place at 30 Rockefeller Plaza before President Joe Biden's appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers. The organization Jewish Voice for Peace confirmed Schafer's participation and arrest, praising her dedication to Palestinian freedom and justice for all.

During the demonstration, Schafer was seen wearing a black shirt with 'CEASE FIRE NOW' written on it and holding a banner that read 'The whole world is watching.' She also sat in front of a banner that stated 'Jews to Biden: Stop Arming Genocide.' Social media posts captured Schafer and other demonstrators chanting phrases like 'no more genocide,' 'ceasefire,' and 'no more weapons, no more war.'

The New York Police Department disclosed that 30 individuals were taken into custody at 30 Rockefeller Center and issued summonses for trespassing. While the NYPD did not confirm Schafer's arrest, a photo obtained by the New York Post showed her being escorted out of the NBC headquarters by police.

The demonstration occurred amidst Israel's military action in response to a Hamas attack in October, resulting in hundreds of civilian casualties. The Israel-Hamas conflict has led to over 29,000 deaths and more than 70,000 injuries, as reported by the Palestinian Health Ministry to NBC News.

President Biden expressed optimism about a potential cease-fire in the Israel-Hamas conflict, stating his hope for one by the following week. He mentioned that his national security adviser indicated they were nearing a resolution but had not finalized it yet.
