HBO has set a release date for the second of its two special Euphoria episodes.

Fans may be disappointed to learn that the forthcoming instalment will not be available until the new year, with the special scheduled to air on Sunday 24 January.

The episode – titled “F*** Anyone Who’s Not A Sea Blob” – will follow Jules (portrayed by Hunter Schafer) over the Christmas holiday period as she reflects on the past year.

Show creator and writer Sam Levinson was joined by Schafer in the writer’s room this time around, with the actor taking on the role of co-writer and co-executive producer on the episode.

The 20-year-old star shared the release date with her 2.2 million followers on Instagram in a post that has since received nearly 715,000 likes and counting.

Schafer accompanied the announcement with an image of a promotional poster, which sees her character Jules on the beach.

News of the release date follows just days after the first of its two bridge episodes aired on Sunday night (6 December).

The 60-minute special focused on Rue (played by Zendaya) as she struggles with sobriety in the aftermath of Jules’s unexpected departure. You can read The Independent’s four-star review of the episode here.

Both instalments were produced under Covid-19 guidelines, according to HBO.

Earlier this year, the hit series was nominated for six Emmys and took home three, including Outstanding Actress in a Drama Series.  The win made Zendaya the youngest actor to win an Emmy in that category.
