Two of Mexico's most beloved comedians are back together on screen. Eugenio Derbez and Omar Chaparro, longtime friends and partners in laughter, reunite in the fourth and final season of Apple TV+ bilingual hit Acapulco.
The Latin Times obtained an exclusive clip of their new scene, filmed at the iconic Las Colinas resort that anchors the story. The sequence delivers what fans have been waiting for: a nostalgic yet fresh moment where the duo's chemistry lights up the screen once again.
A Surprise in the Final Season
Derbez, who stars as the older Máximo Gallardo and also serves as executive producer, invited Chaparro to join the final chapter of the series in his character of internet personality Octavio Cruz. His appearance is designed as both a narrative twist and a heartfelt nod to audiences who have followed their careers for nearly two decades.
In the exclusive video, the pair trade witty lines with the ease of two performers who know each other inside and out. The moment feels like a celebration not only of the characters but also of their real-life bond.
Acapulco: From Global Hit to Emotional Farewell
Premiering on October 8, 2021, Acapulco quickly became one of Apple TV+'s signature bilingual series. Inspired by the film How to Be a Latin Lover, it tells the story of Máximo Gallardo, played in his youth by Enrique Arrizon and in the present day by Derbez, whose dreams of success take root in the glitzy world of 1980s Acapulco.
The show has been praised for its vibrant humor, colorful settings, and authentic representation of Mexican culture, resonating with both Latino and international audiences.
The fourth and final season premiered on July 23, 2025, launching with two episodes and continuing with weekly releases until September 17. In the present-day storyline, Máximo (Derbez) attempts to restore Las Colinas to its former glory. Meanwhile, the 1986 storyline follows young Máximo (Arrizon) as he faces the challenge of a rival resort threatening the hotel's reputation.
This season introduces Omar Chaparro and Keyla Monterroso Mejía as new recurring cast members, alongside returning stars Camila Pérez, Fernando Carsa, Chord Overstreet, Cristina Rodríguez, and Jaime Camil. Actor Jack McBrayer also makes a special guest appearance.
