Eubank Jr vs Benn LIVE: Fight updates and results after Eubank edges past bitter rival

Chris Eubank Jr won a thrilling fight with Conor Benn on Saturday night, outpointing his bitter rival 116-112 on all three scorecards in London.

At Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, two-and-a-half years after they were first due to fight, Eubank Jr finished a see-saw contest in fine form to seal victory over Benn, handing the younger boxer his first professional loss.

There had been drama at the start – with Benn’s two adverse drug-test results thwarting their planned clash in 2022 – and there was drama at the end, as Eubank Sr arrived at the venue with his son, despite criticising the match-up for years.

Thirty-two years after Eubank Sr and Nigel Benn, Conor’s father, rounded out their own rivalry with a draw, Jr did what his dad did in 1990: beat a Benn.

Re-live the action and follow the fallout from Eubank Jr vs Benn and the undercard fights, below.

Key Points

  • Chris Eubank Jr outpoints Conor Benn in thrilling bout to settle grudge
  • Eubank Jr wins 116-112 on all three scorecards after 12 rounds in Tottenham
  • Victory follows late plot twist that saw Eubank Sr arrive with his son, despite criticising bout
  • Benn beaten for first time, as he falls to defeat by a Eubank – just as his father Nigel did in 1990
  • Eubank Jr in hospital as promoter denies he suffered broken jaw in victory

Chris Eubank Jr holds off Conor Benn in boxing melodrama worthy of their fathers

Sunday 27 April 2025 00:52 , Alex Pattle at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

It is difficult to know where to begin, but at the end, Chris Eubank Jr sank to his knees as his father stood proudly by his side, while Conor Benn embraced his own father and closed his eyes, perhaps wishing to drift into a dreamworld away from the very real nightmare around him.

Also around him were 67,000 souls, 67,000 witnesses to his demise after so many threats, so much snarling, so much aggression – an aggression which simply could not deliver the decisive blow he had craved for years.

Make no mistake, this was not an emphatic demise; in fact, the 28-year-old had fought valiantly in a boxing match that resembled a theatrical melodrama more than a sporting contest. Instead, his downfall played out over 12 rounds, with victory so often appearing within his twitchy grasp.

Conor: “I looked at Chris Sr, grabbed him by the neck and said: ‘I’m so happy you’re here.’

“Your relationship with your dad never goes. That’s longstanding, that never goes, [even] without boxing.

“I’d pick my relationship with my dad over boxing any day.

“If this has brought [Jr and Sr] together, that’s worth its weight in gold.”

“In defeat, this kid has become a superstar - across the Atlantic as well,” Hearn said.

“We’ve got to think about what we’re going to do next because he showed tonight he’s a world class fighter and he can win world titles at 147lbs and 154lbs.

“He didn’t fight for money tonight, even though he made a lot of money. This kid has an unbelievable future in this sport.”

Conor Benn press conference: Eubank Jr in hospital with broken jaw?

Sunday 27 April 2025 00:13 , Alex Pattle

Benn: “It’s a hard one to swallow, man. Obviously I didn’t come into the fight thinking it’d be that close, I didn’t come into the fight to lose, I didn’t come for anything apart from winning.

“Obviously I weren’t good enough, so I need to do better.

“I don’t really think I lost the fight. I don’t wanna be delusional... I think it was a close fight, and that’s it.

“Fourteen months out the ring maybe played a factor, but I just wanna say: what an amazing turnout, it really did feel like my homecoming, and it’s a blessing to be fighting back on home soil.”

On Eubank Jr: “I wish him well, I know he’s gone to the hospital, I’ve heard he’s got a broken jaw, so I wish him a speedy recovery.

“Also I wanna thanks to Sr for turning up, because this really is a family affair, and it wouldn’t have been what it was without him there.”

Sunday 27 April 2025 00:05

Benn’s promoter Eddie Hearn hails this as “one of the greatest fights in the history of British boxing”.

He credits Benn for his performance and says the fight perhaps could’ve gone either way.

"I don't see Chris Eubank winning that fight by four rounds at all but forget that - unbelievable respect for both men,” he said.

"I could not be prouder of Conor Benn for what he has been through and the heart he has showed. Nigel Benn was the people's champion, tonight Conor Benn became the people's champion. He won the hearts of everybody who tuned in."

Benn wants Eubank rematch or title shot next

Saturday 26 April 2025 23:41 , Will Castle

“We always knew Chris was a good fighter,” Benn said. “Fighting talk is fighting talk.

“I believe I can fight at 160lbs. If we don’t do the rematch, which I’d love to eventually and avenge that loss, then I’d love to go back to welterweight and win the WBC world title. Whichever happens next, I’m content with.”

Benn's stock rises immensely in defeat

Saturday 26 April 2025 23:32 , Will Castle

Conor Benn will be utterly crestfallen that the scorecards didn’t go his way. There was very little in that, and some - including his promoter Eddie Hearn - have questioned the size of the gap.

But take nothing away from that performance. Moving up two divisions, Benn looked incredibly dangerous for much of that contest and pushed Eubank Jr to his absolute limit.

A true battle for the ages and one that more than adds to the legacy first written by their legendary fathers.

However, his welcome is not exactly a positive one. Not even the presence of Sr has stopped the boos from raining in.

We then see footage of Conor and Nigel Benn WATCHING the Eubanks arrive together.

This is box office.

Liam Smith and Aaron McKenna set for middleweight showdown

Saturday 26 April 2025 20:12 , Alex Pattle

Round seven

Into the second half of the fight. Smith with a strong uppercut, but it doesn’t deter the game McKenna.

And McKenna dials it up now, landing almost at will on a tired-looking Smith.

Round four

Better phase from Smith now, as he closes down McKenna and lands a combination. That comes after some teasing shots from McKenna.

McKenna continues to switch stances in front of the Scouser, and while he misses with a trio of jabs, the subsequent right hook lands.

A little more success for Smith as he comes forward, but McKenna curls a right hook to the body then tags Smith with a pair of straight punches to the head.

McKenna again goes from body to head, just after Smith seemed to be boxing a bit more positively again.

Saturday 26 April 2025 19:48

Round one

Both men stand orthodox. Smith presses forward. Intermittent jabs from the veteran, then McKenna curls out a teasing left hook.

Another left hook, thrown with a little more intent, but Smith blocks it. Light cross from McKenna now – he has lightning speed.

Smith overshoots a right overhand. A left hook, a long one, just about gets past Smith’s guard. He’s struggling a little with the speed of the jabs coming at him as he tries to close range.

Viddal Riley and Cheavon Clarke meet as cruiserweight action continues

Saturday 26 April 2025 19:24 , Alex Pattle

Round 12

Final round! We think this is going Riley’s way, but the champion has had his moments, too.

Clarke tries to make it a bit messy in the final minutes, to mixed success. Riley with a flurry of body shots, then a snapping jab upstairs.

Clubbing right hand is on target for Clarke, but he eats a clever uppercut and short cross.

Frantic action up to the final bell, and the Britons embrace.

The scorecards arrive... Unbeaten, AND NEW! Viddal Riley def. Cheavon Clarke via unanimous decision (116-112, 117-111, 115-113)

Round seven

Solid jab from Riley, then another. Clarke looks a little bothered. He comes back with a right cross to the body, though.

Clarke slips a double-jab but misses with his left-hand counter.

The pace has picked up here. Lots of output from both Britons, but not a ton landing – they’re just missing a lot of the time.

As I say that, Riley connects with a cross, but Clarke is unperturbed.

Round four

Riley with a promising spell here, tagging Clarke with body shots then switching to the head, as the British champ leans back on the ropes.

Clarke gets off the ropes and lands a power jab, but he can’t connect with his follow-ups.

A left hook to the body has Clarke wincing in the final seconds.

Round one

Both fighters stand orthodox. Plenty of jabs early on. Riley charges forward but just misses with a one-two.

Clarke darts in and out twice in a row, landing jabs to the body as he enters. Now he misses with a wild lead hook, and Riley comes back with cleaner work.

A right squeezes through for Riley, after a decent flurry from Clarke.

Chris Billam-Smith wins war of attrition with Brandon Glanton

Saturday 26 April 2025 18:21

Chris Billam-Smith def. Brandon Glanton via unanimous decision (116-113, 116-112, 116-112)

Billam-Smith gets the nod! It felt closer than that in the stadium, but CBS probably did the cleaner work, even though Glanton boxed on the front foot more and looked less exhausted.

Round 12

A fine start to the final frame by Glanton, who lands off both wings. CBS with deep breaths after his mouth guard comes out.

Now he winces big time after a right hand to the body, which he might have felt was below the belt?

Again, he complains that Glanton is leading with his head.

Decent output from CBS in the final 45 seconds, but he’s intermittently on the move with his hands low. Glanton barely misses the chin with a heavy left hand, catching the shoulder instead.

To the scorecards we go. The boxers trade words after the final bell; I’m not sure if CBS has kind words for the American, it looks more like he’s lecturing him after Thursday’s insults.

Eventually, though, they embrace and lift their hands.

Round nine

Stiff right hook from Billam-Smith. Glanton comes forward undeterred, with his head bowed. He’s knocked off balance by another right hook, though.

CBS buries an uppercut into the body. Now he tries to get behind the jab, before missing with a wide hook. Glanton sees some success now.

Punishing rights, as CBS leans back on the ropes.

Final minute of the round. More deep breaths from CBS, who tries to get his guard up in the corner in the final seconds. Positive end for Glanton.

Round six

Glanton goes down to a knee, but he suggests it’s a slip, and the referee agrees.

Soon thereafter, the American gets on the front foot, teeing off on CBS against the ropes. They’re not super-heavy shots, but they are clean.

Again, CBS shoves the American away. Now he holds Glanton, who outmuscles him.

Big, deep breaths from Billam-Smith. He lands a lovely uppercut, however, to arrest some momentum! Glanton stumbles away!

Still, a valiant response from Glanton, who connects with a hook.

Round four

After a decent start, this is trending poorly for CBS right now. He’s backed up to the ropes, and Glanton finds the chin repeatedly.

There are some “ooohh”s in the crowd, as fans of the Briton begin to fear for him, perhaps...

If CBS is going to win this, he’s going to have to do it the hard way. Then again, when has he done it the easy way?

He at least stems the tide somewhat as the round progresses.

Saturday 26 April 2025 17:27

Round one

Here we go! There’s a touch of gloves, ensured by the referee. Both boxers stand orthodox, and Glanton presses forward early.

Lots of close-range fighting, with both men digging to the body. Now a clinch as CBS gets himself off the ropes. Strong uppercut and a pair of left hooks from the Briton.

Fast pace already. CBS gets criticism for taking a lot of punches, but he’s landing frequently so far.

CBS is timing his left hook well, but he does glance up at the clock after a clinch on the ropes – one minute to go. Is he feeling the effects of some decent body work by Glanton?

Now the American with a pair of hooks, one off each wing. CBS comes back with a one-two.

They cannot sustain this pace, or it’ll get sloppy (and even more entertaining).

Nigel Benn gives verdict on son's defeat

Saturday 26 April 2025 23:58 , Will Castle

"I thought he did really well and he learnt a lot from this,” Nigel Benn said. “He was working too much on the ropes, but that is taking nothing away from Chris - it was his night.

"We can handle defeat gracefully and now we go back to the drawing board."
