EU Referendum: How residents and MPs in Nottinghamshire voted in 2016

Remember when Brexit wasn't even a word?

It's become so all-consuming it's now hard to think back to a time when 'Grexit' was actually the phrase of the day.

That was about whether Greece would withdraw from the Eurozone (the countries which have the Euro as their national currency). Now, of course, the debate is about how, when or whether the UK will withdraw from the European Union.

In the years since the EU Referendum, we've had Brexit for breakfast, lunch and tea.

But if you can't remember what actually happened locally in the referendum of June 23, 2016, here's our handy guide - to both the electorate and MPs.

Every area of Nottinghamshire except for Rushcliffe voted to leave the EU. The most pro-Leave area was Mansfield, with more than 70% of voters opting for Brexit.

The only two areas where residents voted in the same way as their MP were Bassetlaw (Leave) and Rushcliffe (Remain).
