A Bristol jewellery designer is among the top 100 finalists of a global competition run by Etsy.
Rosa Pietsch beat off thousands of other entries to reach the final of the Etsy Design Awards - dubbed ‘The Etsies’ - after her statement earrings caught the eyes of the judges.
The competition celebrates unique and creative items made or curated by sellers on the website, according to the organisers.
Rosa, who makes jewellery inspired by vintage styles, was selected by judges including Hollywood actress Drew Barrymore and Etsy’s in-house trend expert Dayna Isom Johnson.
She is now in the running to be named among the winners on October 22.
The competition is offering a top prize of $15,000 (£11,600) for one Etsy seller as well as 10 other prizes worth $1,000.
"The Flora Statement earrings are, I think, a true example of my signature design style,” said Rosa.
“I absolutely love print, pattern, embroidery, colour and texture. I am very inspired by vintage textiles, so there are often intricate floral or botanical motifs in my designs.”
Drew said: “I have been a huge fan of Etsy for many years. All of these incredible independent sellers, from all over the world, create the most amazing items, and with such heart and passion.
“I love the personal cards and notes from the sellers and these one-of-a-kind items that are often made at home and sometimes with the whole family involved.
"I’m so happy to be able to honour this incredibly talented group of entrepreneurs.”
Etsy has more than two million sellers open for business, often working out of their homes.
