If you're in need of some winter sun and double jabbed, then the UAE's national airline Etihad Airways has launched a flash sale that just might put a spring in your step.
The firm have announced a 10-day sale for UK and Irish travellers to celebrate the announcement that Abu Dhabi will be reopened to fully vaccinated international tourists. The sale launched this morning and runs until September 26, and offers massive discounts on flights to travel between 21 September 2021 and 30 June 2022. If you're signed up to the Etihad Guest loyalty scheme you get another 10% discount on these discounted fares.
Flights departing London start at £349 all in, with Manchester and Dublin options also available at £399 and £499 respectively.
And just in case passengers are hesitating on booking amid fears of what might happen if they catch coronavirus while they're away, Etihad offers complimentary Covid-19 insurance covering automatic medical or quarantine expenses for passengers travelling until the end of March 2022.
Etihad Airways' Jeremy Pollock said: “The announcement of our sale has come at a welcome time for passengers looking for their winter sun getaways to Abu Dhabi. We were thrilled to learn that fully-vaccinated travellers could once again explore the desertscapes, fabulous beaches and warm, clear waters that Abu Dhabi has to offer and we look forward to welcoming tourists back to Abu Dhabi once more with Etihad.”
This pre-Black Friday deal is one of a range that airlines have launched in recent days. As well as Etihad's sale, British Airways is running a sale until September 21 on flights and breaks to multiple destinations.
If you want to plan ahead, Virgin Holidays has unveiled discounts on a range of destinations including Orlando, US city breaks and the Caribbean, although - of course - the US borders remain closed to tourists indefinitely so these are for early 2022.
If you need a break sooner, Tui is offering an additional £100 per booking off all bookings for September and October using the code SUNSHINE. Either way, if sunshine is what you want you might not need to wait until November 26 (this year's Black Friday) to pick up a travel deal to get some well-earned rest and relaxation.
