Free agent Ethan Ross is looking to win a dream move to the English Premier League with Southampton.
The winger is out-of-contract at Aberdeen and has failed to agree to an extension.
The 19-year-old has been training with Saints for the last couple of weeks.
The English top flight are looking at him with a view to putting Ross into their development squad.
If he continues to impress then he could be offered a deal and that would put Aberdeen in line for a six-figure compensation package.
Meanwhile, Aberdeen are set to extend Kieran Ngwenya’s contract.
The Malawi international is close to agreeing a long-term deal with the Dons.
The 18-year-old, who was on loan at Cove Rangers last season, has already made his Dons debut.
He still has this season left on his deal but Stephen Glass and his staff want him tied down to a long-term deal.
The full back only went full-time last summer with the Premiership outfit.
