Ethan Galbraith future under the spotlight as Doncaster Rovers boss Gary McSheffrey offers update

Doncaster Rovers boss Gary McSheffrey remains confident that Ethan Galbraith will remain at the club beyond the January transfer window.

There have been reports that Manchester United could recall Galbraith with the 20-year-old on the radar of a number of clubs in the EFL Championship.

The Northern Ireland midfielder has impressed at Doncaster during his loan spell this season, scoring one goal in 24 appearances across all competitions.

His displays have led many Donny fans to hail Galbraith as their player of the season so far.

McSheffrey remains determined to keep the youngster as Doncaster fight against relegation this season, and he says he has received no indication from Manchester United that his time at the Eco-Power Stadium is coming to an end.

McSheffrey told the Free Press : “Since speaking last time publicly about Ethan, he’s just trained in every session and played at the weekend.

“I had a conversation with him and he’s happy here. He’s getting games and he’s happy.

“It’s not one that we’ve double or triple checked yet. We haven’t had a call from Manchester United to say anything is going on.

“As far as I’m aware, he’s happy and he’s staying here.”
