Eta strengthens into category 3 hurricane: NHC

Eta has strengthened into a category 3 hurricane on the Saffir-Simpson Hurricane Wind Scale and is forecast to make landfall in Nicaragua on Tuesday, the National Hurricane Center said on Monday.

The hurricane is located about 105 miles (170 km) east-northeast of Puerto Cabezas, Nicaragua, packing maximum sustained winds of 120 miles (195 km) per hour.
