Estate agents red faced as house hunters spot 'brazen' living room sign

An estate agent was forced to pull pictures from a property listing after a "brazen" sign was spotted in the living room.

The £200,000 house, marketed by Nicholas Humphreys Estate Agent, boasted an "immaculately maintained" buy-to-let investment opportunity in a popular area.

The property boasts of four double-bedrooms and ensuite bathrooms, kitchen and private back garden.

But eagle-eyed house hunters couldn't help but notice a 'brazen' photo taken in the living room with a happy birthday banner on the wall.

In the photos, golden helium birthday balloons can be seen above the TV while underneath a banner reads 'let's party b******'.

A Nicholas Humphreys Estate Agent spokesman said they appreciated the matter being brought to their attention and that the pictures would be replaced.

Twitter user FrankieBubs commented: "I nearly bought this house based on the brazen use of these pics on Rightmove."

"This property is offered to the market with NO CHAIN and is ideal for a Buy-to-Let investor wishing to let the property to university students.

"Currently, the property is fully tenanted until June 2022 with rental income of £20,928pa providing a return up to 10%."

A Nicholas Humphreys estate agents spokesman said: "Thank-you for letting me know, I was totally unaware of that.

"I can see how that could potentially attract some attention - good, bad or otherwise - I do understand exactly where that's coming from.

"I think the best thing we should do is remove that particular photo from the stack, so thanks very much for bringing it to my attention - and also to the people who raised it.

"I think we should remove that and find another photograph of the lounge where we ask the tenants to remove the banner or alternatively just take another angle.

"It needs to be replaced clearly."

Pattinson Auction and Rightmove have been contacted for comment.
