A man is in hospital after being shot in the face with a BB gun in a Sainsbury’s car park in Essex.

Officers were called to the shooting in Tofts Walk, Braintree around 7.15pm on Monday and found the victim suffering a face injury.

The man, in his 40s, was rushed to hospital, but his injury is not being treated as life-threatening or life-changing, said Essex Police.

They believe the shooting happened after an argument between the victim and two men - and appealed for help in finding the suspects.

One of the suspects is described as wearing a blue beanie hat with a blue puffer jacket.

The second is described as having a long white beard and hair, and was wearing dark trousers and a dark jacket.

Witnesses to the shooting, those who have footage, or anyone who may have information, are being asked to contact police.
