Essential roadworks to take place on A725 southbound

Essential roadworks will be carried out on the A725 southbound carriageway between Bellziehill Junction and Raith Underpass.

Transport Scotland are advising motorists that the A725 southbound carriageway will close overnight between Bellziehill Junction on slip road and Raith Underpass, from 8pm and 6am, for two nights, starting Thursday, April 15..

The closures are required to ensure road user and road worker safety while they undertake essential road surfacing patching works and will take place overnight to minimise disruption to traffic. The road will reopen at 6am each morning.

As a result, the following slip roads will be closed:

  • A725 southbound Bellziehill Junction on slip road
  • A725 southbound Orbiston Junction off slip road
  • A725 southbound Orbiston Junction on slip road
  • A725 southbound Raith Junction off slip road

Signed diversion routes will be in place.

Scottish Road Partnership are carrying out these works on behalf of Transport Scotland to maintain the integrity and safety of this route.

Transport Scotland, Traffic Scotland, the emergency services, North Lanarkshire Council and South Lanarkshire Council have all been consulted in planning these works.

Transport Scotland said: "Please note, all works are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable."
