Essential Eye Creams To Use In Your 20s

This story was written in collaboration with Forbes Finds. Forbes Finds covers products and experiences we think you’ll love. Before you delve into the world of intense anti-aging skin products and start seeing Instagram ads for expensive products protecting against crepey skin, start a regimen with a light but effective eye cream. (And consider SPF a lifelong given).

Skincare is one of the best investments you can make, but since face creams and serums tend to be on the pricier side, try “dating around” the eye cream scene. Give each cream several weeks before you make any decisions, as it takes some time to undo months and sometimes years of under-eye damage.

Here are a few products to keep you looking healthy and well-rested:

Drunk Elephant | C-Tango Multivitamin Eye Cream

It can’t be a list for 20-somethings without at least one Drunk Elephant product. The brand is consistently at the top of must-have beauty lists due to the simplicity of the ingredients– the brand preaches a “less is more” philosophy, never including any of the  “Suspicious 6” ingredients (Essential Oils, Drying Alcohols, Silicones, Chemical Sunscreens, Fragrances/Dyes, SLS) that are in many other brands.

It Cosmetics | Bye Bye Under Eye Brightening Eye Cream

This brand consistently delivers great moisturizers and skincare products. Bye Bye Under Eye is good for brightening and de-puffing after a long day or night. One of the most soothing ingredients is the cucumber extract which gives your eye area a cooling effect. Try keeping this one in your refrigerator and applying it cold for a spa-like experience.

OLEHENRIKSEN | Banana Bright Eye Crème

Founder Ole Henriksen opened a Skin Care Center in Denmark back in 1975. The skin cosmetician created every product with a wealth of knowledge and experience. The brand adheres to EU standards, which means over 1400 ingredients are banned from their products. Also, for better or worse, this eye cream does not smell anything like a banana.

Fresh | Black Tea Firming and De-Puffing Eye Cream

This concentrate has a fun origin story: co-founder Lev Glazman used to freeze black tea in ice cube trays and rub the cube around her eyes. That ritual inspired her to create this concentrate, infused with tea from Unji, often called the Green Tea Capital of Japan.

Kiehl’s | Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado

Hop aboard the avocado train with this Kiehl’s eye treatment. This little container is a creamy delight with added shea butter for under-eye moisturizing. Since it does feel a little thicker than most under eye treatments, give it a few minutes to settle before applying any concealer or makeup over it.

Dr. Roebuck’s | Collagen Boosting Eye Treatment

Dr. Roebuck’s was started by two sisters, Kim and Zoe Roebuck, who took their doctor parents’ formula for skincare and marketed the Aussie heck out of it. It has caffeine, a natural anti-inflammatory as well as Hyaluronic Acid which is known to help retain water and keep your under-eye area looking fresh.

Sanitas Skincare | PeptiDerm Eye Treatment

Sanitas goes on smooth and dries almost immediately, which is especially nice when you’re in a rush and don’t have time to wait around. This brand is an esthetician favorite and also has vitamin C, which helps reduce dark circles and firmness.
