Several sites (including this one) keep tabs on projecting where college football teams will go bowling each week after all the action occurs on the gridiron. It’s a list that is ever in flux because of more surprise endings than an M. Night Shyalaman movie.
ESPN is in the mix of course because of being the whole worldwide leader in sports programming or something like that, and we like to follow what some of their experts think as well.
On that note, we wondered aloud (and inside our head) where Kyle Bonagura and Mark Schlabach have the Buckeyes going after seeing them play some good ‘ole fashioned American amateur football on Saturday. So we checked in, and it seems nothing has really changed.
Both writers like Ohio State to head out to Pasadena to stop and smell the roses. And yes, that is a part of the College Football Playoff bowl rotation this year, so that’s pretty rockin’
But what isn’t is that neither of the two writers think OSU will get beyond the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains. Bonagura has the Buckeyes losing to Alabama, and Schlabach — seemingly ready and willing to stick a virtual needle straight into the eye of Buckeye Nation — has Ohio State going down to Clemson, again.
Look, I can get on board with going out to Southern Calfornia if things are in a place with the coronavirus to do so, but not another loss to the Tigers. We’ll see how all of this changes as things progress during the season, but at least the dynamic ESPN duo likes what they see from OSU enough to include it in the race for the hardware.
