ESPN snubs Georgia from ‘RBU’ list

This week, ESPN released a list that ranks the best colleges at each position since the start of the BCS era. The list was based on a formula that claims to quantify the amount of talent put out on the field by the respective schools.

In a decision that shocked many fans, the sports empire elected not to include Georgia anywhere in the top 10 on its list for ‘RBU,’ or school that has had the best running backs from the BCS era until now.

Of course, the BCS era, which started in 1998, did not include the career of UGA legendary running back Herschel Walker. Still, one would think that just the trio of Nick Chubb, Todd Gurley, and Sony Michel alone would be enough to at least put UGA in the top 10.

“One team surprisingly absent from the Running Back U top 10 is Georgia, which has had its share of talented runners over the years,” said ESPN. “In the past four years, the likes of Sony MichelNick Chubb and Todd Gurley have rumbled their way through Athens, but a lack of star power in the first half of the BCS era held the Dawgs back.”

Alabama came in first place for RBU. The Dawgs did, however, receive the honor of having the best linebackers in the era.
