ESPN said it was Warriors-Rockets for Game 2 of the WCF

If you were a Rockets fan watching NBA Countdown on Thursday night, you probably noticed something fishy.

Houston’s logo was front and center next to the Golden State Warriors’ logo, billing Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals as between the two teams. The chryon did, however, say correctly that Game 2 is between the Portland Trail Blazers and the Warriors.

Twitter was obviously quick to react with multiple reactions, but we are still a bit heartbroken and don’t have anything quirky to say yet.

Rockets-Warriors was billed in last year’s playoffs, as well as this year’s playoffs, as the “real” NBA finals.

Last year’s Western Conference Finals between Houston and Golden State ended up going to seven games and was a THRILLER. The Warriors ended up besting the Rockets.

This season’ series was not as thrilling, unfortunately. And we certainly wish the two teams were still playing. As is known, Houston was eliminated in six games in the Western Conference Semifinals last week.
