ESPN’s Pat McAfee had a perfectly timed announcer’s jinx on blocked punt

ESPN college football commentator and former NFL punter Pat McAfee was on the call for Thursday’s UCLA-Stanford game, and he picked an awkward time to praise the Bruins’ special teams unit.

Just as McAfee lauded Chip Kelly’s team as UCLA attempted a punt inside their own red zone, a pair of Stanford players ran over the three UCLA players protecting the punter and blocked the punt, leading to a recovery and a touchdown.

The Bruins recovered, though, and went on to win 34-16 on the road.
