After expressing interest in him last week, the Jacksonville Jaguars will have the opportunity to interview ESPN’s Louis Riddick for their general manager opening Wednesday. The interview marks the first known interview the Jags have had for their general manager vacancy, which became open when they fired Dave Caldwell in November.

Riddick’s name has been popular over the last few years when it comes to general manager vacancies. Many will recognize him for his work with ESPN as an analyst and a “Monday Night Football” broadcaster, but Riddick worked for two NFL front offices before moving to the big screen.
His first front-office job was with the Washington Football Team where he was a pro scout and eventually became their director of pro personnel from 2005-07. After his time there, he joined the Philadelphia Eagles where he was a pro scout (2008), assistant director of pro personnel (2009), and a director of pro personnel (2010-13).
Riddick, a former safety, also has played in the NFL spending time with the San Francisco 49ers, Cleveland Browns, and had multiple stints with the Atlanta Falcons, to name a few. He entered the league as a ninth-round pick (No. 248 overall) in 1991 with the 49ers out of The University of Pittsburgh.
So far, Riddick has been a busy man with interviews, meeting with both the Houston Texans and Detroit Lions last week. The Falcons, who he played for, also have considered Riddick for their vacancy, too.
